Moving Magnet Voice Coil Linear Actuator Introduction
Moving Magnet Voice Coil Linear Actuator is a type of direct drive linear motor used for precise linear motion applications. It is equipped with an integrated sliding contact linear bearing. This integrated design enables precise linear motion while also ensuring the structural integrity and alignment of the moving parts. It operates on the principle of Lorentz force, which states that a current-carrying conductor placed within a magnetic field experiences a force perpendicular to both the magnetic field and the direction of the current. This actuator design is characterized by its simple structure, consisting of a permanent magnet and a coil assembly.
When an electric current flows through the coil, it generates a magnetic field that interacts with the permanent magnet, causing the magnet and the attached component to move.
The motion of the magnet can be linear or rotary, depending on the design of the actuator. In a linear moving magnet actuator, the magnet moves along a straight path, while in a rotary moving magnet actuator, the magnet rotates around a central axis.
